PTFE tubing features universal corrosion resistance, wide temperature tolerance, anti-scaling property and low friction. It is the core piping for transporting highly corrosive fluids in chemical industries. Available in multiple structural types, it suits different pressure levels and working conditions.
Corrosion Resistance: Resists aqua regia, concentrated acids, concentrated alkalis, hydrofluoric acid, organic solvents and strong oxidants at ambient temperature. Virtually no chemical media can erode it.
Temperature Resistance: Continuous service temperature ranges from -180℃ to 260℃, and it can withstand transient high-temperature impact.
Additional Advantages: Smooth inner wall with low flow resistance, non-adhesive surface, excellent anti-scaling performance, non-toxicity, great aging resistance and superior electrical insulation.
2.1 Virgin PTFE Hoses & Rigid Pipes (Low pressure, small bore)
Specifications: Small-diameter straight pipes, corrugated hoses and transparent PTFE pipes, made of pure PTFE material.
Working Conditions: Atmospheric pressure / slight negative pressure and low-pressure pipelines. Ideal for sampling lines, instrument impulse lines, laboratory piping and small chemical dosing lines.
Applicable Media: Various strong acids, chemical reagents, high-purity chemicals and corrosive gases.
Features: Good flexibility and easy installation. Not suitable for high pressure or main transmission pipelines.
2.2 Steel-lined PTFE Pipes (Main industrial piping for medium & high pressure)
Carbon steel / seamless steel pipes fully lined with PTFE lining, categorized into tight lining, loose lining and molded lining. It is the most widely used anti-corrosion piping in chemical industry.
Pressure Rating: Withstands medium and high pressure, applicable for plant main pipe networks and long-distance fluid transmission.
Application Scenarios: Chlor-alkali, petrochemical, pesticide, electroplating, pickling, fine chemical and hazardous waste transportation industries.
Fittings: Matching PTFE-lined elbows, tees, reducers and flanges. The complete piping system leaves no corrosion dead zones.
Applicable Media: Concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, liquid caustic soda, halogen substances and various organic solvents.
2.3 Braided Reinforced PTFE Hoses (Medium pressure, flexible connecting lines)
Reinforced with stainless steel wire or fiber braiding on the outer layer, combining flexibility and pressure resistance.
Working Conditions: Inlet and outlet of equipment, connections for pumps and valves, vibrating pipelines and lines requiring displacement compensation.
Applications: Feeding and discharging of reaction kettles, mobile chemical dosing, acid & alkali liquid transfer and flexible connection of equipment.
Advantages: Vibration damping and crack resistance. Compensates for installation deviation and thermal expansion & contraction of pipelines.
2.4 PTFE Bellows (For displacement compensation & vibration reduction)
Featured with annular corrugations, including virgin PTFE bellows and steel-lined PTFE bellows.
Core Functions: Thermal expansion compensation, vibration damping, noise reduction and displacement compensation.
Installation Positions: Long straight pipe sections, pump outlets, front and rear of compressors and equipment interfaces, preventing pipe cracking caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
Suitability: Pipelines carrying high-temperature corrosive media and working under alternating conditions.
2.5 PTFE Coiled Tubing / Tube Bundles (For heat exchange & special piping)
Assembled by multiple fine PTFE tubes, mainly used in PTFE heat exchangers and cooling/heating systems.
Applications: Heat exchange for corrosive materials, waste acid cooling and electrolyte temperature control. It replaces metal heat exchange tubes and thoroughly solves pipe wall corrosion problems.
Acid & Alkali Chemicals: Production and transportation of concentrated acids and alkalis, pickling lines and discharge lines of acid/alkali storage tanks.
Chlor-Alkali & Fluorochemical Industry: Transmission of highly corrosive gases and liquids such as chlorine gas, hydrogen chloride and fluorides.
Fine Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Pesticides: Transportation of high-purity reagents and synthetic intermediates, meeting requirements for both corrosion resistance and cleanliness.
Electroplating & Surface Treatment: Piping for electroplating solutions, passivation solutions and cleaning solutions, avoiding metal ion contamination.
Environmental Waste Treatment: Piping for acidic wastewater, waste gas spraying, desulfurization & denitrification and hazardous waste liquid transportation.
Instrumentation & Automatic Control: Impulse and sampling lines for analyzers, pressure gauges and level gauges.
Virgin PTFE pipes have poor creep resistance and low pressure resistance. Steel-lined PTFE pipes must be adopted for high-pressure main pipelines.
Do not use for a few specific media that can corrode PTFE, such as molten alkali metals and high-temperature gaseous fluorine.
Molded lining structure is preferred for high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions for better sealing performance and longer service life.
Equip pipelines with PTFE bellows to compensate thermal deformation and reduce damage caused by stress.
Avoid scratching the lining with sharp objects during cutting and installation. Damaged lining will lead to rapid corrosion of the base pipe.
